Nice to meet you, I'm Sara
I create eye candy for experiential brands, mostly in the form of branding ↗ and campaign ↗ work. One of my recent favorites is a visual identity ↗ for educational spirits tastings.
If you're a fan of photography and surrealism, you should check out my self portrait series ↗
I also experiment with type ↗ and collage ✂ in my spare time.

My first medium was photography.
In photo school, I learned how to creative code and I started using the web as my canvas.
Through an early career in web design, I fell in love with typography and the graphic design styles that heavily featured it: Swiss style, Brutalism, Dadaism, and more
Emerging as a visual designer, honed an aesthetic that marries expressive typography with photographic imagery and grid systems.
Becoming an Art Director, I drew closer to surrealist illusion-making and postmodern absurdity: finding joy in taking the ordinary and turning it on its head.
Today, whether I'm designing brands, shooting portraits, collaging posters, or anything in between, I approach all creative work with a focus on resonant storytelling, a holistic blend of digital and analog mediums, and a style that bridges the timeless aesthetics of traditional art movements with the playful practices of modern trends and emerging technologies.
I hold a BFA in Photography & Imaging from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a minor in creative coding at the Courant Institute of Mathematical sciences. I studied brand identity design and the business of photography at School of Visual Arts, and I was part of the inaugural class at the NuVu Innovation School. Prior to freelancing, I worked as an Art Director and Visual Designer for startups in the financial services space. My ongoing self portrait series Most Likely to Come Apart has been exhibited in publications and group shows internationally.
I'm currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
